Google announced earlier this week their new social networking program called google+. To me it looks like it is here to stay (at least compared to their old tries at social networking,) however social networks only goes as far as your friends do. The layout and features of this in reality compete toe to toe with facebook, but you need your friends to join in order for you to enjoy this. Its like a cell phone, the phone is great if your friends have a phone but if they don't it is pretty boring. Personally it is hard to tell if google+ is here to stay, only time will tell, but I don't think it will knock off facebook.
